To be honest, I’ve never used safety chains before but the new ones that Ohm Beads came out with looked so different that I thought I’d give it a try. I had to ask Tia (@beadsonabudget) if I was using it correctly (some bead jewelry blogger I am) and now I see the benefit of using one…for me it was easier to put on a full bracelet! Now I also see that they are good for keeping charms from going onto the threading part or from slipping off the end if there is no threading. (I’ve always used clips for that, though.)

The safety chain that first caught my eye is called Pinned Up and has some underwear that is clearly Ohm Gnome’s!

Here’s what the whole chain looks like. It’s absolutely adorable! I love the little socks! These safety chains also fit on Pandora bracelets.

The safety chains clip on, which is handy.

This one is called No Escape and looks like barbed wire. So cool! If you have a job where your wrists have to lay flat for any length of time the little bits of metal might be uncomfortable, but if you are mostly going to be moving your hands around its not uncomfortable at all. There is also a third safety chain called Locked Down, which functions the same way but is not quite as decorative.

I think I’m going to keep this all silver Ohm Beads bracelet together for a while. I like the Merkaba as the focal point and then the Grumpy Cat beads, the Ugly Doll beads plus the others make for a fun bracelet.

Lastly, here’s a ‘flatlay’ picture I made while taking some other shots on the weekend. I’ve noticed these kinds of photos are pretty popular. Ohm Gnome only complained a little bit. Ha!

I realize safety chains are a ‘love them’ or ‘never use them’ kind of accessory, but if you use them these ones might be fun to have. Coming up Wednesday are the glass beads from the True Beadz summer release.

Disclosure: For this blog I may receive some items as promotional samples.
