One of the things I like most at Christmas is the Panettone, a typical Italian cake, or the Torrone, filled with nuts or almonds and covered with dark chocolate.
I also love the buttery Christmas cookies with a hint of ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and clover, preferably with a cup of hot chocolate π

My favorite Christmas treat is something that we call Panettone (I think it’s the same treat that you call “fruit cake”). I really love Panettone!!!

Our fruitcake is different and not many people like it. But panettone is sold everywhere here at Christmas! Which remind me, I should get some!

I love the fruit cake baked by my mother-in-law. She only bakes during Christmas and Chinese New Year. And it is never enough to go around relatives and church friends because everyone loves the yummy fruit cake.

My favorite Christmas foods are special because of the food itself, but more importantly, the person whose memory it brings to mind. They are Buche de Noel and Swiss Christmas cookies.
My companion was French and we enjoyed sharing Buche during many of our Christmases together, some of which I made. After his death, I continued to make Buche de Noel which I shared with members of my church after Christmas Eve Midnight mass.
My Grandmotherβs Swiss Christmas cookies were Basler Lackerlis and Mailanders. Eating them reminds me of her, my favorite grandmother and my childhood Christmases. The Basler Lackerlis especially remind me of Christmas because one time when I gave someone them as a gift, they tasted it and said it tastes like Christmas.

Love baking cupcakes and fruit cakes but I love to eat pineapple tart rolls a speciality in Asian homes. The tart is rolled with the filling of homemade pineapple jam and brushed with egg on top. It’s a must try for those who have never tried it. It always brings back memories of my late mum.

Hi there, my favorite holiday cookies are Finska Pinnars! It’s a simple sweet shortbread topped with meringue & chopped walnuts. It’s an old recipe handed down from my husband’s grandmother & I never knew what it was until I met him. Apparently it’s Scandanavian, and the best thing is it’s not very complicated so I can make them myself.
Merry Beadmas!

Danish butter cookies are my all time favorite. I do love a danish cookie called klejner. I haven’t made them in years. I think I’m telling everyone in the house to go find something to do and just make them. Tell them all to go away, I’m going to make cookies. I’m smart, I’ll hide some for myself then.

My mom always makes a ton of sweets for the holiday; divinity, fudge, torte, cookies. You name it she makes it. Out of all of it though, my favorite is those peanut butter cookies with the Hershey kiss on top. I was not graced with this baking sweets gift, I burn everything. So the only time I can have homemade delectables is the holidays. Let me tell you I’m quite excited for Christmas. Lol.
