There’s a new starter bracelet coming out from Trollbeads on Friday, October 18. For $120 USD it consists of a silver chain, lock, silver bead and glass bead. The lock and bead are designed by Ragnar R. Jørgensen. The glass is a grape purple with a hint of blue.
On the reverse side of the lock is some pretty scrollwork.
I decided to make a full combination using lots of black beads and the Soft Wind of Change Pendant, which was also designed by Jørgensen.
Here’s the bracelet just by itself. The Shimmer Royal Beads play nicely with the new purple bead.
I did a little splurge a while back and bought some Round Black Onyx beads and another Black Onyx so that I would have two. Multiples are so amazing to have but hard on the wallet! But check out this bracelet as it has easily been my favourite of the season. Lately I’ve been making bracelets using just a little bit of silver. I find the gemstones and glass to be so addictive.
Warm, natural colours make up this bracelet below.
Lastly, here’s another bracelet I’ve enjoyed looking at this fall. The yellows feel so warm and make me think of a campfire on a cool, crisp night.
The sweet Fantasy Necklace with Elf completes the look.
My thoughts about this new starter bracelet are that it is a good deal for someone new to Trollbeads or to give as a gift. The heart lock is a love it or loathe it kind of piece and of course, I always like purple but some people don’t. Amazingly, the purple flowers in my photos were given to me by my purple hating friend, Trisha! There wasn’t much buzz about this bracelet so I am guessing a lot of people were underwhelmed, but I would love to hear your thoughts.
Disclosure: As always, this sample was given to me by Trollbeads USA.
I love Trollbeads Starter bracelets, but agree that this would not be a must have for me. Like you, I love purple, and this glass bead is superb . I’m just not a fan of hearts, and so wouldn’t buy this one, but I do have more bracelets than I need and am “trying” to be sensible.
I’m looking forward to seeing the Winter Collection though. I am crazy about the Fall release and bought enough to keep me happy for a long time.
Happy Thanksgiving Martha and thank-you for this beautiful post.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, Sarah! The Fall release did have quite a number of beautiful beads and with the Winter release coming up I can understand your reluctance to buy right now.

This one is ok I like hearts & purple. But I think the vines set was better. Buying multiple stones sure is $$ I wish I could. I still want some stones I don’t have yet. Your onyx & poises bracelet is pretty.

I will admit to having stones at the top of my wish list these days. I like how they go with so many things. Glad you like the onyx and Flowers of Poise bracelet. I think Flowers of Poise has been really popular this fall.

as mentioned, starter sets are good value if you need another bracelet or gift – this one is OK but not a must have at the moment. I guess hearts are safe sellers but really all brands have done them to death so I would have liked something different. The purple is fine but it is a bit of a hard shade and I am not sure how well it will “play” with others. You have done a nice showcase here so thanks!

Hi Fiona, I do have to agree that it’s a bit of hard shade of purple to match up. I’m lucky enough to have two older Purple Waters event beads from Blooming Boutique and this new bead looks great with those. The new one also goes really well with older aurora beads, but again, those are extremely hard to find now. That’s one of the reasons I put it with a lot of black in the bracelet here. Honestly though, I rarely wear full bracelets so just the starter bracelet as is would be more my thing.

purple waters and the white ones were fab beads! for me they are “the ones that got away” as it is rare for me to get to a store or event as there is little trollbead presence in Australia now. I was lucky in May that I got a event bead at the lovely Trollbead store in Vivo City, Singapore and I am saving to go back next year and hope to go to the store in KL , Malaysia as we didn’t have time to get to that one as we did back to back tours. I wish T would do a waters bead in the regular collection, the texture always looks amazing on this bead and it is “bead envy” for me!

Fiona, it makes me so happy to hear you talking about Singapore! I went to the store at Vivo City a year and a half ago! I think it’s closed now and they’ve relocated to a different mall on Orchard Road? I agree that the texture on those water beads have an amazing texture and I like how the light hits them. I am also saving to go back to Singapore and maybe KL! We might have to go on strike this year as the teachers are currently without a contract. If there is no strike we hope to go to Asia this summer.

Store is still there in Singapore upstairs ’round corner from Chanel! This is a big mall on multiple floors, actually two malls joined together, we got a bit lost getting there so the lovely manager walked us out to another store we were going to. I googled a store on Orchard road when we were there but we went elsewhere on the day and didn’t have time to find that one either
