I’ve seen lots of photos on social media of the new Ring of Change and always wondered what it would feel like to wear it. Turns out it’s actually super comfortable. Designed by Danish jewelry designer Kim Buck, it is striking in its simplicity and elegance. When I first saw it I wondered why no one had invented it before. To be able to choose each day a different bead to wear on your finger is such a fun concept. Here is the ring itself.
Simply slide any bead on. It is also compatible with Pandora beads. I tried it out with all the brands I collect. With Ohm Beads and Redbalifrog, their hole openings are so big that they slide right off. However, if you put a Trollbead on first, that prevents other beads from falling off and then you can use it with any branded bead. Here it is with the Gold Silver Trace.
I also tried it with my Coffee Mug and Mocha beads. Perfect for beads n’ coffee!
The big question is how does it feel and does it get in the way of anything. I had my 12 year old son take photos of me doing some daily activities-playing oboe, playing banjo, grocery shopping and cutting an apple. Nothing was a problem and I even tried conducting for a few minutes so I know I can wear it for work! You don’t even really feel it on but you can gaze down at it to enjoy the bead.
Here’s the combo I ended up wearing. The new Violet Stripe bead on the ring and the Wise Bamboo, Graceful Sky and Floral Wishes on the bangle.
As with lots of things, it would be ideal to try it on first, but I found it to fit true to size. I’m looking forward to trying out more beads with this ring. I’m thinking that it’d be fun to make combos with double sets of beads-one on the ring and one on a bangle.
Disclosure: On this blog some products I use I have received as samples.
Oh my, Martha!
Really great review!
I have to stop reading your blog…..my wallet is crying!!
It is nice to see Ring of Change acting in real life, in these days I will go to my TB local store and try it!
Thank you for all your beautiful photos, you are a great photographer (your son too!) and have a very good taste in colors and combinations.
Have a nice day!

Thanks Serena! I’m glad you like the photos and hope they are helpful. James and I had fun doing the little photo shoot! Let me know what you think of the ring when you get to try it on!

I have very little thin fingers though, do you think it would be too ‘over-powering’ for little fingers? Love the ring concept though

Hmm…good question. Next week my beads n’ coffee friend will be back from vacation and I can have her try it on. She’s very petite. The thing is, I’m not really a good judge of fashion, so in my mind if it’s something you want to wear I’d say go for it. Hard if you have to order online though. That’s not much of a help, sorry!

Looks great Martha! When I first saw the Ring of Change I wasn’t into the idea of wearing beads on a ring, but then I saw more pictures of it online in action and that led me to buying the charm ring by Bead It with the screw, I found it really cheap set of 2 rings for $2 (silverplated) so I figured I’d see how I liked wearing a charm as a ring. Turns out I love it! I mostly have been wearing my Troll Big Butterfly which makes such a stunning ring 😀

I love this post! It was such a treat to be able to try your beautiful new ring, and, yes, I will be buying it thanks to you. I like how endlessly versatile it can be and also just how comfortable it is. It’s a perfect way to isolate and showcase a favourite Troll glass bead.

Thanks, understand much better now how it works. 🙂
Not sure if I want to get one as I bet it’s expensive for what looks like a bent nail, but it is a nice idea to be able to wear beads on fingers as well as wrists and necks.

It’s a pretty awesome idea to be able to choose what to wear on your fingers. Not inexpensive, to be sure. I’ve been mostly using it with silver beads, actually!

Thanks for posting this. I see this ring lots and wondered how it works and how it feels throughout the day. Now I’m really inspired to get one! Maybe my first trollbeads purchase will be a ring and some beads, and not a bracelet!
