Congratulations to Alinemoreira75! You are the winner! Thanks so much for entering everyone! It was so interesting to read about what everyone collects!!!
Happy Monday! Today, I am hosting a giveaway by Ohm Beads for 5,555 OHMbucks! This will be open for about 24 hours.
Recently, I made up a permanent OHM bracelet. It’s fairly neutral looking and will be easy to grab and go. It uses some of the recently released glass beads that I wrote about here. If you’re ever interested in reading about older beads, hit the Ohm Beads tag on my blog and 181 blog posts will come up.
This funny little Hungry Hippo was one of my earlier beads and he has the funniest face.

This NOLA bead was a fabulous gift at the ohmazing OHM10 celebration weekend in New Orleans a few years ago.

This telephone called Land Line is a gorgeous piece.

Check out the details on this Typewriter.

Ok, to enter the giveaway, leave a comment telling us about what you like to collect, other than beads! Obviously all of us here are bead collectors, but what else do you like to collect? I like to collect makeup, particularly the brand called ColourPop. What about you?

I have never used this brand of makeup, I use it but little. Me what I select are the tattoos, I have 36 but I think I will stop counting lol

Thanks for hosting, Martha! Of course I mainly collect beads and other jewellery, but I also collect purses and lip glosses. I love high-end bags (Fendi, Louis Vuitton), but only have a few because of the steep price point. And lip glosses are another obsession – I wear them 24/7. My fav will always be lip smackers because they remind me of my childhood and I just love the texture and consistency fruity scents.

I am fairly new to the bead/charm world but I have definitely fallen hard! As a child I was an avid collector of rocks/stones/crystals as well as stickers and stamps. As an adult, besides beads and charms, I also collect books, new and secondhand. They are all waiting patiently for me to find the time to read them and for my long wished for home library or comfortable reading nook, one day……..

Annette Ten-Cate makes the most wonderful whimsical animal figures! (I have quite a few, lol!) I must have been a crow (or dragon!) in my former life, with my need to have ALL the shiny sparklies. π

Hello!!! Thank you for hosting this day of the #ohminapril contest. I am new in the world of beads and I love to collect them, I also start to collect bracelets, there are so many types and brands and are so beautiful. The other thing that I was collecting was shoes, but I don’t have so much space to put them, so the jewelry is better, jajjajaj.

Thank you for hosting Day 26, Martha! Isn’t it funny how many human beings are compelled to collect stuff! I am also driven to gather and started early with stamps. Throughout the years there have been many collections and just before beads were vintage sewing machines. They take up a LOT of room and once I had a stable-full, I knew I had to find smaller treasures! Have a wonderful day my friend (and I wish I could go back in time to NOLA!)

Hi Martha, thanks so much for hosting today. I inherited part of my sister’s elephant collection (she was completely obsessed!). I made a permanent bracelet in her memory that ended up with lots of duplicates on it because when I bought an elephant for her bracelet, I bought one for mine. I just bought an elephant teapot because it reminded me of her, so I guess I can honestly say I now collect elephants too! I also love anything cat-related, from wall art to coffee cups to cat bum magnets.

Hi Martha, I am fascinated with crystals, I started collecting tumbled stones a few years back. I like to look at the natural pattern formations or inclusions in the crystals and whenever I feel stressed, I would hold the stones in my palm. Last year, I also started collecting all sorts of crystal bracelets. The collection grows too fast, think I have close to 50 of them now. I seriously need to slow down π

Books; my oldest is Hereward The Wake, printed in 1867. I donate about 100 books a year to women’s crises centers, so I do an inventory yearly. Last year my library stood at 1107. Yikes. In Germany we have different interchangeable ring systems and I own some . One is called “Charlotte” after the inventorΒ΄s wife. The original ring had a center where you could decorate tops around. After that there was another one which had tops and even interchangeable centers. I have these rings since the nineties, so I have quite a huge collection.
And I collect stuff with guinea pigs. But thereΒ΄s not so much.

Hi Martha! I had a lot of different collections over the years. Currently it’s teapots – I’m especially fond of YiXing teapots and those I find in thrift shops made by ceramics students that are a little…odd. I also collect geocoins, which are small art coins with a unique number, originally meant to leave in a geocaches (geocaching.com), found and logged online, and then moved to another geocache, so you can see them “travel.” These have gotten to be such an artform, many people keep the original and put a copy in the cache to travel. Kind of like beads – tiny art pieces you can keep in your pocket.

I started collecting as a little kid: crystals, stickers, My Little Pony, dinosaurs, and Lion King cards (I nearly had the whole collection). As I big kid, I’ve had to be a bit more conscientious about space and purpose with the things I collect. Beads are great because they take up so little space, plus you can wear them! Apart from beads, I collect some books. I have a modest collection of craft and art supplies though I wouldn’t call myself a collector in that sense. Likewise, there’s an impressive collection of teas (from my favorite local tea purveyor) in my cupboard. And my Animal Crossing character is close to completing the Fossil, Fish, and Bug collection wings of her Museum. π
